What are CLE Event?

HMPA has successfully implemented continuing legal education requirements since 1995. HMPA's CLE criteria mandates 8 hours of CLE per year for Voting Members and increased the CLE criteria for PHP members from 8 hours to 10 hours per year effective January 1, 1999.

HMPA's CLE events are scheduled on the second Tuesday of every month and cover a wide variety of substantive legal topics. The CLE Committee also coordinates our Annual Full Say Seminar. These events encompass a wide range of specialized practice areas and topics such as Business & Regulatory, Ethics, Oil & Gas, Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, Texas Rules of Evidence, and Trial Preparation and Assistance at Trial.

CLE requirements may vary depending on the organization and state.

  • Verification of Self Study: Two (2) hours of self-study may be submitted along with 6 hours of classroom continuing legal education to satisfy the requirement. Self-study includes reading on legal issues, paralegal issues, administrative issues pertaining to law office administration and management.  Evidence of self-study must be submitted using the Verification of Self Study form.
